After four years as a managing director with the Paris office of Duff & Phelps, Sophie Moreau-Garenne has launched her own firm which becomes a budding new player in the market for restructuring advisory services. Last April, she registered SO-MG Partners after relinquishing her function as managing director with Duff & Phelps, where she had been jointly responsible – with Fabrice Keller and Guillaume Masseron – for the restructuring advisory service line since 2008. “A role within a large entity was no longer for me, so I decided to launch into this new adventure with the intention of offering high quality tailored services”, she explained. She had also previously worked for Deloitte Corporate Finance, Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. SO-MG Partners offers services ranging from the preparation of IBRs to debt renegotiation and notably including seeking external funding, preparing and implementing turnaround plans and, of course, transaction services. The new structure will thus practically play in the same league as its founder’s previous firm, albeit disposing of fewer staff. Aroun Benhaddou, Capital Finance – 11/06/2012
